I like using a files and folders component to explain UX—it looks dead simple, but it’s packed with complexity. You’ve got to think about things like creating, renaming, copying, and pasting files; multi-select and bulk actions; keyboard shortcuts; collapsing and expanding folders; panel resizing; drag and drop; context menus; accessibility; responsiveness... the list goes on. What seems basic on the surface is actually a deep UX challenge hiding in plain sight.
